Episode 38: The Time Traveling Tomb, Bigfoot FBI Files & Bigfoot Conspiracies

On Episode 38 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Sara & Jeff are back at Rougarou Studios to discuss a London's Time Traveling Tomb, The Bigfoot FBI Files, and Bigfoot Conspiracies.

We start off the podcast at a closer distance now that some restrictions have been lifted to discuss the news, including a T-Rex Walking Club, Quarantine Ghost Sightings, Sword Fighting in Kansas, and early man vs meteorites.

After the news, Sara digs into the Time Traveling Tomb in London. In the middle of Brompton Cemetery in London stands a tomb surrounded by trees and was erected in the early 1850s, intended to be the final resting place of a woman named Hannah Courtoy and two of her three daughters, Mary and Elizabeth. However, for many visitors to the cemetery, the tomb’s missing key and lack of access have led some to believe that something strange is going on inside—that it's secretly a time machine.

During the second part of the show, Jeff starts off talking about the FBI files that were released last year, and the unfortunate reality that they found nothing of note. However, the fact remains that the FBI found Bigfoot to be intriguing enough to look into and it also led to the Bigfoot conspiracy rabbit hole Jeff fell into. Is Bigfoot an alien? Do Sasquatch bury their dead? Is Bigfoot out there banging cows in the fields? We get INTO it on Episode 38.

Episode 37: The Glimmer Man & The Winchester Mystery House | Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast

On Episode 37 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Sara & Jeff are back at Rougarou Studios to discuss a The winchester Mystery House and The Glimmer Man.

We start off the podcast at a safe social distance with the news, including including an unmasked Bigfoot, Pablo Escobar's Hippos, and a trifecta of bad shit.

After the news, Sara fills us in on the weird and wonderful Winchester Mystery House. During the lockdown, several museums are offering free virtual tours, and the Winchester Mystery House is one of them. After the death of her husband, Sarah Winchester spent the rest of her life building what would eventually become a 7-story mansion in San Jose, Ca. Many believe that her designs came from her communications with the dead spirits of the people killed by the Winchester family's "victims".

Them Jeff digs into his new favorite cryptid, The Glimmer Man. There is still little known about The Glimmer Man, a creature that many believe has cloaking capabilities similar to the Predator, from the movie series. Is The Glimmer Man an alien? Human soldiers in a secret government government project? Or is the Predator actually stalking the forests of North America? We go into stories of the Glimmer Man and what this creature may actually be.

Episode 36: Mothman & The Squonk | Bigfoot,King of the Forest Podcast

On Episode 36 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Sara & Jeff are back at Rougarou Studios to discuss a mostly unknown Cryptid, the Squonk & one of the most well-known Cryptids of all time, The Mothman.

We start off the podcast at a safe social distance with the news, including Walmart live births, large naked women running amok, and why size matters for Narwals...

After the news, Sara fills us in on the legend of the Squonk, a little known Cryptid that cries itself into a puddle of goo.

Them Jeff digs into a subject he has been itching to talk about for a long time, the Mothman legend. What is the Mothman? Is it a Cryptid? An Alien? And is it a harbinger of bad things to come? We discuss the history of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, the disasters that have befallen the region, and how this may all be tied back to a Native American curse.

Episode 35: Curse of Atuk & Missing 411 | Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast

On Episode 35 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Sara & Jeff are back at Rougarou Studios to discuss The Curse of Atuk & other movie-related curses along with the High Strangeness that is Missing 411 Cases.

We kick the episode off talking about what's been happening the past month or so, including some new podcasts from Rougarou Studios (see show notes), the Biggest Little Farm documentary, and how Jeff is no Matthew McConaughey.

After the news, Sara jumped right into the Curse of Atuk & other movie curses. Atuk is the name of an un-filmed American film screenplay, intended to be a film adaptation based upon the 1963 novel The Incomparable Atuk by Canadian author Mordecai Richler. The weird thing is every actor - from John Belushi who was the original casting to Sam Kinison, John Candy, and Chris Farley were all attached to the project at the time of their deaths.

We also get into curses related to "Poltergeist", "The Passion of the Christ", and other films that have seen tragedy befall those connected. Is there any validity to these curses, or are they just coincidences?

During the second part of the show, Jeff dives into the High Strangeness that is Missing 411 cases. Missing 411 is an informal classification that documents missing person cases that fit a number of criteria, most notably those cases involving individuals that are known to be outdoors people, hikers, and hunters that go missing in our national parks. We discuss different notable cases, David Paulides, and whether there is some connection between Missing 411, our cave systems, and even Sasquatch.

Below is an image showing the Missing 411 cases on top with our major cave systems on the bottom:

And below are notable Bigfoot sightings on top with that same Missing 411 map on the bottom:

The correlations are interesting, to say the least.

Episode 34: The Flatwoods Monster & Momo, The Missouri Monster | Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast

On Episode 34 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Sara & Jeff are back in the studio after a far-too-long hiatus to talk The Flatwoods Monster and MOMO: The Missouri Monster.

We kick the episode off talking about our recent trip to Iceland and about traveling around for the holidays. During the news, Jeff goes into a minor diatribe about the "docu-series" Hellier & Hellier 2, and how he had a slight change of heart about the show once he had a revelation - that is, if the revelation is accurate.

After the news, Sara digs into the history and the legend of The Flatwoods Monster. Also known as the Flatwoods Phantom, the Green Monster, and the Ugly Doll Flatwoodsie , the Flatwoods Monster terrorized Flatwoods, West Virginia in September of 1952.

Next, Jeff discusses the early 1970's in north eastern Missouri - specifically Louisiana, MO, and the case of MOMO, which is short for the Missouri Monster. In 1971, the small river town of Louisiana had a string of sightings of a Bigfoot-like creature that was seen carrying around a dead dog. MOMO is said to have wreaked of a putrid odor and was known to let out an ungodly roar. The sightings were also accompanied by several sightings of unidentified lights in the sky. What was MOMO? Was it an alien, a Bigfoot, or something else entirely? And why has the town of Louisiana, MO all but forgotten the once popular cryptid?

Here are pictures from our stop in Louisiana, MO on the way to Iowa and the entrance to Marzolf Hill (or, what Google Maps told us was Marzolf Hill).

Episode 30 : Parasitic Twins & The Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp : Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast

On Episode 30 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Sara & Jeff are back again in Rougarou Studios to talk about the weird, the strange, and the obscure.

After the news, Sara discusses parasitic twins. One of Sara’s favorite books growing up was the Dark Half by Steven King. What exactly are parasitic twins? How is it different from conjoined twins? How does this happen and what are the repercussions and options when parasitic twins become a reality.

In the second part of the show, Jeff digs into the strange tale of the Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp. In 1988, an upright Lizard-type creature was repeatedly reported in and around Bishopville, South Carolina. Known to terrorize residents, gnaw on vehicles, and cause quite the ruckus, what was the Lizard Man? Was it a real creature? A hoax? A Bigfoot in disguise? And is there still a creature roaming the swamps of South Carolina.

Episode 29 : Are We Living in A Simulation & Is Cryptozoology a Cult | Bigfoot, King of the Forest

On Episode 29 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Sara & Jeff are back and asking the BIG questions that really matter. Are we living in a simulation and Is Cryptozoology a cult?

Jeff also introduces you to the dance craze sensation that will soon sweep the nation: The Bob Heironimus.

After an eventful news segment, Sara asks, “are living in a simulation?” What if computers have become so powerful that we are simply living in a program and have no idea? What does it mean to exist? Are we merely living in a reality created by others…even aliens? Are we living in a game of extraterrestrial sims?

Jeff also goes on a diatribe on why the Popeye’s chicken sandwich is far superior to Chick-Fil-A.

In the second part of the show, Jeff talks about a recent blog he read which asked, Is Cryptozoology a Cult? by Andrew McGrath, author of Beasts of Britain. While he understands where Andrew is coming from, Jeff disagrees with the assumption that people who believe in Bigfoot, Jersey Devil, or Fairies are the same as the followers of the Peoples’ Temple or Charles Manson. What actually constitutes a cult?
