Episode 27: Best Found Footage Films & Extraterrestrial Sasquatch | Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast

On Episode 26 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Sara & Jeff are back at it from Rougarou Studios after anther brief hiatus. Before the news, they discuss what has been going on with the studio, work and family obligations that have been keeping them from podcasting regularly, but look to be slowing down as they get settled in to the studio.

After the news, Sara gets into one of Jeff’s favorite things: found footage films. She goes through a recent list of the top 10 found footage films of all time, though Jeff tends to disagree with some of the rankings. How the Hell the Bad Ben series or a single Bigfoot found footage film made it on the list is still confusing them both. In the second half, Jeff goes over a topic they have glazed over a few times: what if Bigfoot is an alien? While there is often a line in the sand drawn between Bigfoot researchers and UFO enthusiasts, there is a subset of the groups that believe an alien Sasquatch could help explain blurry photos, tracks stopping in the middle of nowhere and other issues that have stumped Bigfoot researchers for decades.

Ron Morehead is the dude Jeff was talking about and is the author of the Sierra Sounds book, Voices in the Wilderness.

Episode 26: Interview with Mike Familant from Sussex County Bigfoot - In the Shadow of Big Red Eye

On Episode 26 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Sara & Jeff had the pleasure of sitting down via ZenCastr and speaking with Mike Familant of Sussex County Bigfoot and the fantastic YouTube documentary series, In the Shadow of Big Red Eye. Mike is a Bigfoot field researcher from New Jersey and extremely knowledgeable on Bigfoot, Bigfoot research techniques, and has unique perspectives on a variety of topics around the big guy. Some technical difficulties on our end aside, Mike sounds great and this one is well worth the listen.

In the Shadow of Big Red Eye is getting ready to begin the filming of the fourth season, and is looking at an October or November release. Until then, there are plenty of great episodes on the Sussex County Bigfoot YouTube page, including field shows, informative “Squatchables” and much more. Check it out in the links below!

After getting into the upcoming Mardi Gras season, and just how bad of Catholics our friends are, Andrea schools us on the Rougarou (or Loup Garou (or Cajun Werewolf)). What is the Rougarou? How does one become a Cajun Werewolf? And how do you kill this creature of Lent? All these questions are answered this week!

Minisode 3 - A BKOTF Baby Squatch: ZenSquatch

For our third Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast, Baby Squatch (mini episode), Jeff is alone again (sadface), but never fear, he gets a little philosophical (yes, after a couple of drinks) and rambles on about whether Bigfoot could be a Zen Master.

That's right! Along with his love of Bigfoot, Jeff is also very interested in Zen Buddhism and Meditation, and he often likes to put these two loves together and think about whether or not Bigfoot has Buddha nature, and what that might mean for the species and for us humans.

Minisode 2: BKOTF Baby Squatch - The Skookum Cast

For our second Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast, Baby Squatch (mini episode), Jeff digs into one of the most famous (in the Bigfoot community) and controversial finds ever - the Skookum Cast!

Discovered in the Skookum Meadow in September of 2000 by members of the BFRO (Bigfoot Field Research Organization), the Skookum Cast has been studied by scientists for the past 18 years, and to this date has not been found to be a hoax and has, as of this podcast, remained a mystery as to what created the imprint in the soft, loamy soil in the Cascade Mountains. What is the Skookum Cast? Is it a hoax, a misidentification, or the most famous ass print in history?

Episode 21: The Butterfly Effect & Tales of the Yucca Man | Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast

For Episode 21 of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast, we come to you talking about the all-new Rougarou Studios in Baton Rouge, Louisiana! This is the new home of the Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast, and we are excited for 2019 and all the plans we have for the new year. After the news, Sara starts off the show talking about the Butterfly Effect and Chaos Theory. What happens when a butterfly flaps its wings? Can a minor adjustment or action from one individual change the course of history? And how is your life like a choose your own adventure book?

In the second part of the show, Jeff gets all sentimental about the deserts of the southwestern United States, and his time at Twentynine Palms Marine Corps base, before diving feet-first into Tales of the Yucca Man. Since the early 1970's, there have been tales told at Twentynine Palms of a tall, blonde-ish, Bigfoot-like creature that has harassed Marines on guard duty, hikers, and campers in the Mojave Desert, but tales of the beast go back as far back as people have stepped into the desolate, beautiful desert region. How did the Yucca Man get its name? And what is it?

Minisode 1: A Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast Baby Squatch

For our first ever Bigfoot, King of the Forest Podcast, Baby Squatch (mini episode), Jeff jumps on the soap box after spending time on Reddit to rant about Sasquatch hoaxers and why they are a huge sore spot in the Bigfoot community.

We talk about the different kinds of hoaxers there are out there, who some of the most notable Bigfoot hoaxers and hoaxers were over the past few years, and why you should not only be angry at these hoaxers, but also why you should cut the Bigfoot skeptics some slack.
